SAMPOORNA upholds the heritage & tradition of Ayurveda. Ayurveda is a traditional system of medicine that originated in India over 5,000 years ago. It is one of the oldest healing systems in the world. The term “Ayurveda” comes from the Sanskrit words “ayur” (meaning life) and “veda” (meaning knowledge or science), thus translating to “the science of life.”
Ayurveda views health as a state of balance between the body, mind, and spirit. It emphasizes the importance of maintaining this balance to prevent illness and promote overall well-being. According to Ayurveda, each person is unique, and their health and wellness depend on their individual constitution, known as their “dosha.” There are three primary doshas: Vata (air and space), Pitta (fire and water), and Kapha (earth and water). Each person typically has a dominant dosha or a combination of two doshas, which influences their physical, mental, and emotional characteristics.
Ayurvedic medicine utilizes a holistic approach to healing and includes various practices, such as herbal remedies, dietary guidelines, lifestyle modifications, detoxification techniques, meditation, yoga, and specific body treatments like massages and oil therapies. The aim is to restore balance and harmony within the body, thus promoting health and preventing diseases.
Ayurveda recognizes that the causes of illness are multifaceted and can include factors like poor digestion, accumulation of toxins, imbalances in the doshas, and emotional disturbances. Therefore, treatment in Ayurveda focuses on identifying the root causes of an individual’s health issues and addressing them through personalized recommendations.
